Parts of this I love.  Others... Not so much.

Things I liked: the social media presence makes sense.

Things I didn't like: Babs' attitude I did not.

The social media thing is an interesting take.

Things I liked: determination.  That's her character.

Things I liked: no drag queen can pull off Batgirl convincingly.

Batgirl #36

Not surprised at the story.  It does have a very anime look.

Things I liked: lots of social stuff from this team.

Things I didn't like: she still seems young.

Batgirl #35

New creative team.

Things I liked: lots of energy, great new costume, great use of social media.

Things I didn't like: she's too young!  21 is too young for her to have been Batgirl plus that makes Dick too young too.

Yay!  Stephanie!

Things I liked: you can push Barbara but you can't knock her over.

Things I didn't like: Beast out Barbara.

Batgirl #34

That's a lot of female heroes.

Things I liked: Batgirl knows she's not a murderer.  That'll make things so much better for her.

Things I didn't like: it's the end of Gail Simone's run.

Batgirl #33

Huntress really does fit in.

Things I liked: Batgirl is unhinged.  It makes sense with all that's gone on.

Things I didn't like: all the criminals on Cherry Hill huh?  And how's Knightfall supposed to know?

Oh wow!  Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress!

Things I liked: I think the lawsuit against Gordon is more realistic than the imprisonment.

Things I didn't like: it's too bad that they both need to happen at the same time.

Batgirl #31

Ragdoll is a tough villain.  Simone obviously loves him.

Things I liked: Ragdoll likes monkeys.

Things I didn't like: lazy storytelling.  There's got to be a better way than the old roommate plot.

Batgirl Annual #2

Interesting idea to tie Ivy to seasons.  I've seen it done before but I think Simone may have come up with the definitive.

Things I liked: Ivy is almost, but not quite, a sympathetic character.  She's very complex in this story and I liked that.

Things I didn't like: she was a little too crazy.  I like her crazy but she didn't seem functional.

Batgirl #30

A nice tribute to Nightwing.

Things I liked: Barbara's emotions really came through this issue.

Things I didn't like: Gotham is really piling on the supernatural.

Batgirl #29

Silver is definitely crazy.  Hallucinations and all.  Not for believing in vampires.

Things I liked: the kid actually was vampiric.  I thought for sure she wouldn't be.

Things I didn't like: there's a giant bat (several) flying around Gotham and Babs is surprised there's vampires?

Batgirl #28

I like Gail Simone so I'll give this a chance but Batgirl + vampires is weird.

Things I liked: Batgirl cautioning him to let her know if they sparkled.  I can hear the disdain.

Things I didn't like: Mary sort of came out if nowhere.  I haven't been following Birds of Prey so I don't know the relationship there.

Things I liked: interesting to see what Bab's thinks is Utopia.

Things I didn't like: Knightfall as a friend.  I was hoping this character would go away.

She's finally got her shit back together.

Things I liked: she does honestly want her father to know.  I don't like that he refused to let her tell him, but I do think he knows on some level.

Things I didn't like: pretty bad plan from Knightfall, especially the part where she listens to James.

Batgirl #25

Not Gail Simone, but it's still Batgirl.

Things I liked: insight into what makes a hero.

Things I didn't like: Gordon puts too much on his daughter.

Batgirl #24

Barbara likes younger men.  I hadn't pegged Ricky as a 19 year old but there you go.  I hope she's still older than Nightwing, I've always liked that part about their relationship and she's had way too much life experience to still be 19 herself, plus I'm pretty sure we've seen her drinking.

Things I liked: the reaction to the shooting.  Everyone involved has a very real world feel to it.

Things I didn't like: she's so willing to give up Batgirl.  It feels contrived to me.

Batgirl #23

I can only envision this arc to end with Commissioner Gordon knowing that his daughter is Batgirl.

Things I liked: Gordon's partner is showing signs of intelligence.  She was originally willing to finger Batgirl for anything, now she's playing the caution card.

Things I didn't like: Barbara is being careless with her identity.

Batgirl #22

Batgirl goes on a date!

Things I liked: Batman must have let Gordon hit him.  He's a great friend.  I think Barbara needs a visit from Dick.

Things I didn't like: I don't get why Commissioner Gordon is so set against Batgirl.  She's never shown that she would kill purposefully, why now with his son.

Batgirl #21

The thing I like most about Gail Simone is that she makes the extraordinary real.  For example...

Things I liked: Nightwing calls Barbara to offer his condolences.  Sure, they're both bat-themed heroes but they're also friends, former lovers, and have both just lost someone they cared about.  It makes sense that he would call.  Just like she told him about Damian.

Things I didn't like: how hellbent Jim is to get the person who killed his son.  I'm used to him knowing, or at least suspecting, that Batgirl is his daughter.
