You get one more shot Liefeld. Then I'm outta here. This issue was dumb. Really, really dumb. Someone's been reading the Davinci Code and tried to write something similar. But really? You're a renowned linguist and you take your scroll to a Catholic cult? Did not work for me.
Things I liked: um... at least Liefeld's not doing the art.
Things I didn't like: it failed in so many places. Mostly it was completely unbelievable, even for a superhero comic.
What I'm reading from DC's new 52. Plus any other title I might pick up.

Savage Hawkman #10
I want to see where this story goes, but I'm honestly not that interested in how it's getting there.
Things I liked: the art is a little on the 80s side but I kind of like the detail.
Things I didn't like: Liefeld spends too much time telling the reader what happened rather than letting the panels show it.

Savage Hawkman #9
Phew! Rob Liefeld didn't ruin this one too.
Things I liked: I actually kind of like the story. I want to see where it goes anyway.
Things I didn't like: it's a bit wordy. You'd think with Liefeld being an "artist" he wouldn't want to crowd out everything with dialogue boxes and word balloons.

Savage Hawkman #8
You know, he is a lot meaner than I remember him being. I remember stoic, even a little stiff, but this Hawkman is willing to bash skulls.
Things I liked: his inner monologue. Tony Daniel is really good at getting into his characters' heads.
Things I didn't like: kind of a concourses plot. This girl that's been trying to kill him hasn't really been trying to kill him. Oh, wait, yes she is.

Savage Hawkman #7
I'm really enjoying this run on Hawkman. I'm going miss Tony Daniel when his run is done.
Things I liked: the way the story teases itself out. It never feels rushed although the ending was anticlimactic.
Things I didn't like: arbitrary team up with Static. I didn't like the series and I wasn't too excited to see him here.

Savage Hawkman #6
Oops. Sometimes it's tough to be an archaeologist, just trying to find an ancient artifact brings on an army of the dead. Though it makes me think I should be reading The Walking Dead.
Things I liked: I like when the hero makes a mistake that he then has to fix. It's my favourite type of story.
Things I didn't like: the name of the occult store owner is Digby. Given Hawkman's connection to the Elongated Man, I figure it must be an homage to Raplh Digby. Except this guy is a jerk.

Savage Hawkman #5
It's almost a shame. This really isn't the Hawkman I know but Tony S. Daniel is such a compelling story teller that I can't put it down. Though I wonder if it's intentional that the "Renfield" here is named Digby. We haven't seen either stretchers or Shriners in the DC Universe yet. Well, maybe in Mr. Terrific but I'm not sure.
Things I liked: nice intro to a new Gentleman Ghost. Very creepy.
Things I didn't like: I miss Shiera. I don't like his new supporting cast very much.

Savage Hawkman #4
Hey! It looks like Hawkman may be an alien after all. It's sort of interesting that Daniel is trying to tie all the tortured origins of Hawkman into his title. I hope it comes together. I wasn't really satisfied with his treatment in Darkest Night / Brightest Day but I don't know if he can really pull off "reincarnated Egyptian alien".
Things I liked: it's a really good story. I want to see where it's going.
Things I didn't like: it still doesn't feel like Hawkman. I like Tony S. Daniel though so I'm willing to see where it goes.

The Savage Hawkman
Hmmm... Again, I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I'm intrigued by the plot, but I'm not drawn back to it. I guess I'll see how the arc ends.
Things I liked: Carter's taking control of the hawk.
Things I didn't like: the new powers he keeps getting.

Savage Hawkman #2
There's a lot going on with this series. It's taking the archaeologist origin of Hawkman and trying to merge it with the alien origin of Hawkman. It's completely different than what I'd expect of a Hawkman story.
Things I liked: it keeps me guessing.
Things I didn't liked: the villain's name - Morphicius. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it.

The Savage Hawkman #1
I wasn't expecting to like this one. It is just Hawkman after all. But Tony S. Daniel surprised me again. This was not only very readable, I really want to find out what happens next.
Things I liked: the set up. This looks like it could be a really good story.
Things I didn't like: I'm not sure about the nth metal being part of him now. I suppose it makes sense.
