The plot by the new commissioner is the dumbest thing ever.

Things I liked: Catwoman and Batman in Japan looks like fun.

Things I didn't like: really?  No arrests because Batman touched them?

Future's End #4

Not sure where they're trying to go with this.

Things I liked: not surprised that Tim's bitter.

Things I didn't like: the art seemed rushed this issue.  Had trouble telling who was who.

Justice League #30

Geoff Johns loves writing Lex Luthor.  So much so that he's bringing him into the Justice League.

Things I liked: the last panel was the payoff.  Though Flash's comments were great too.

Things I didn't like: I don't want Luthor in the Justice League, especially if he brings along Captain Cold.

Forever Evil #7

That was worth waiting for.

Things I liked: Luthor knows.  Luthor used that big brain of his and he knows.

Things I didn't like: would have liked a bit more to finish up the Owlman/Nightwing thing.  I have fears of Owlman tracking Dick down.  Or maybe I read too much fan fiction.

Future's End #3

I was hoping it was Dick, but I'll take Tim.

Things I liked: neat new power for Grifter.

Things I didn't like: Mister Terrific is a jerk.

Justice League of America #14

And that wraps that up.

Things I liked: Stargirl is an interesting character.

Things I didn't like: didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know.  I thought Baz was an interesting character, Vibe too, but they're not around for the next incarnation.

Wonder Woman #31

Paradise Island is in for some big changes.

Things I liked: Diana gives good speeches.  She's starting to give too many, but they're good.

Things I didn't like: Hermes is hurt again.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #31

I didn't think that looked like the new 52 Lobo.

Things I liked: Roy's good.

Things I didn't like: looks like more Lobo to come.

Batman/Superman #11

Still a crossover.

Things I liked: I always like seeing Batman think.

Things I didn't like: too many new characters and groups.

Batman Eternal #7

Never a fan of the Penguin's Iceberg Lounge but sorry to see it go.

Things I liked: Catwoman's going to have to choose sides.

Things I didn't like: this new police commissioner is dumb.

Batman and Robin #31

I'm up for more Batman and Frankenstein team ups.

Things I liked: Frank's two conditions.

Things I didn't like: how many times does Ra's have to submerge these things?

Batgirl #31

Ragdoll is a tough villain.  Simone obviously loves him.

Things I liked: Ragdoll likes monkeys.

Things I didn't like: lazy storytelling.  There's got to be a better way than the old roommate plot.

Batman Eternal #6

Jim Corrigan is back as the Spectre!

Things I liked: Batman's explanation of the Spectre.

Things I didn't like: not a big fan of Batwing or the Joker's Daughter.

Justice League Canada #1

I wonder if it has a different name down south?

Things I liked: the relationship between Animal Man and Green Arrow looks to be a lot of fun.

Things I didn't like: Lemire rally likes cutting off hands.  I hope Hawk,an will be OK.

Future's End #2

They're sure killing off a lot of heroes here.

Things I liked: this is going to be one of those romps through the DC universe.  I can tell.

Things I didn't like: Firestorm's a dick.

Superman/Wonder a Woman #8

I'm not planning to get Doomed but it's an interesting idea.

Things I liked: Diana looking for Clark, and not finding him because she's thinking Superman.

Things I didn't like: crossover events.

Future's End #1

Lots of death in this issue.  Not sure what to make of that since most of them seem to play a prominent part in advertising.

Things I liked: I liked Grifter, hated what Liefeld did to his series.  Looking forward to new use.

Things I didn't like: got tired of Stormwatch but they shouldn't have died in the first pages.

Batman Eternal #5

Yay!  Batman and Red Robin together again.

Things I liked: Tim is making Batman work to get back together.  He's pointing out a lot of failures.

Things I didn't like: Harper.  No more Harper please.

Detective Comics #31

Batman is at his strongest for street level crime.

Things I liked: the investigation sequence was beautiful.

Things I didn't like: I have a feeling this will get big.  I'm hoping for low level crime but it feels like it will go to the super.

Batman/Superman #10

I was really more interested in how Batman had a microscopic ship fly into his bloodstream rather than in the cliche voyage into Batman's brain.

Things I liked: this version of Ray Palmer is fun.

Things I didn't like: he tried to stay away from the tropes, they're still there.

Teen Titans Annual #3

So the last issue was a capper and then this caps things even more.

Things I liked: I was hoping for a big revelation of Harvest.  Almost got it.

Things I didn't like: nothing happened in thus issue that didn't happen in the last one.  It feels like a grab to me.

Green Arrow #31

I wouldn't trust my super secret organization to Green Arrow, especially since he only found out about it 5 minutes ago.

Things I liked: yes, that's what should happen with Sword versus Fist.

Things I didn't like: Emi going with the Outsiders.  It would have been more interesting if she'd stayed with her brother.

Future's End #0

Pretty nifty of DC to start this event with Free Comic Book Day.

Things I liked: I never really got in to the Batman Beyond Universe but I've always liked how bitter and alone old Bruce is.

Things I didn't like: it's sort of starting before the last event had ended.  It's not really it's fault that Forever Evil was delayed but it feels wrong.

Batgirl Annual #2

Interesting idea to tie Ivy to seasons.  I've seen it done before but I think Simone may have come up with the definitive.

Things I liked: Ivy is almost, but not quite, a sympathetic character.  She's very complex in this story and I liked that.

Things I didn't like: she was a little too crazy.  I like her crazy but she didn't seem functional.

Batman Eternal #4

Batgirl is not taking this well.

Things I liked: I'm liking Bard.  I hope he keeps it up.

Things I didn't like: obligatory "meat" scene for Gordon in prison.

Secret Origins #1

I'm a sucker for origin stories.

Things I liked: seeing Superman's origin from his mothers' points of view.  Lara and Martha are so often overlooked.  Kyle Higgins hits upon the difference between Bruce and Dick.  Batman mourns his parents' deaths, Nightwing celebrates their lives.

Things I didn't like: Supergirl's origin was nothing that hadn't been done in her series so far.

Justice League United #0

Or maybe Justice League Canada?  They seem to be marketing it both ways.

Things I liked: oddly intrigued by a team that features Animal Man, Green Arrow and Adam Strange.

Things I didn't like: while it's nice to get out of New York, I don't know if the back end of nowhere inNorthern  Ontario is a good substitute.

Batman Eternal #3

Yay! Stephanie!

Things I liked: expanding the Batman family again.  There are some great characters that have been lost.

Things I didn't like: I don't know if I want to gain Oiler to lose Nightwing.

Teen Titans #30

Wherein the writers try to tie up all the loose ends before cancellation.

Things I liked: Bunker and Gar have good chemistry.

Things I didn't like: I don't get why they're relaunching this title as the New Teen Titans.  Why not just continue?

Worlds' Finest #21

Hmmm... I know from reading Earth 2 that Superman was almost certainly dead.  I wonder if this is yet another double.

Things I liked: Bruce and Hel could get along.

Things I didn't like: beginning to remind me of Dungeons & Dragons.

Batman/Superman #9

Ack!  Crossovers!

Things I liked: the thoughts of Batman and Superman as they got to know Power Girl and Huntress.

Things I didn't like: the issues don't seem very coordinated between the two series. Bothered something missing as I read from one to the other.

Worlds' Finest #20

I think Dick would get a chuckle out of Helena's memories.

Things I liked: batman is all business, the only one.

Things I didn't like: she fell for that?

Not a big fan of crossovers.  I read the first part before I knew there was a prologue.

Things I liked: been waiting for this.  Almost as I saw it.  Still want her to meet Dick.

Things I didn't like: how can Karen's people not see she has superpowers.

Back when they were Supergirl and Robin.

Things I liked: seeing Clark and Bruce as parents.

Jumping around a bit because there's a crossover.

Things I liked: Kara is resourceful.

Things I didn't like: still not enjoying this loss of powers issue she's having.

Ooo... Falcone!  Maybe a little Hush action coming.  And the Spectre for good measure.

I'm loving this Zero Year.

Things I liked: the Riddler is actually threatening.

Things I didn't like: Bruce got pulled off into so e random apartment for days?  I guess?

Ugh!  I want to get back to Forever Evil.  Cyborg has never been a favourite if mine.

When did Jason become the go to guy in the DCU?

Things I liked: Roy came through.

Things I didn't like: steal from the Blackhawks to steal from S.H.A.D.E.?  Sounds like name dropping to me.

Batman and Robin #30

That is one manly looking Amazon.

Things I liked: not much to be honest.

Things I didn't like: I was looking forward to this one.  I like Batman and Wonder Woman together but the manly Amazons and the numerous mentions of a musky Batman put me right off.

Wonder Woman #30

I think Hera wants to be a substitute mother for Diana and that's why she can't turn Hippolyta back from clay.

Things I liked: Diana's impassioned speech to the Amazons.  It made sense, so many speeches don't.

Things I didn't like: wow, those Amazons really hate penises.

Batman Eternal #1

I'm going to get this right out of the way... I think the big villain us Ra's al'Ghul.

Things I liked: it's Jason Bard!  Looks like Bab's boyfriend is back.

Things I didn't like: how is Jim arrested for this exactly?

Batgirl #30

A nice tribute to Nightwing.

Things I liked: Barbara's emotions really came through this issue.

Things I didn't like: Gotham is really piling on the supernatural.

Superman/Wonder Woman #7

And the world holds it's breath.  Normally I don't mind when a comic takes time for the hero to be ordinary but I feel this is leading up to something.

Things I liked: the different ways they go about healing says so much about them.  Diana goes to her family for help, Superman goes off to be by himself.

Things I didn't like: the only reason to start another Doomsday arc is for them to try to build up anticipation for the Justice League movie, but that's not for another 2 years.

Detective Comics #30

A new art team is exciting.  I loved Manapul's work on the Flash and I can't wait to see what he can do with Batman.

Things I liked: this is grief like I expected.  The Dark Knight title never got it right.  Manapul does first try.

Things I didn't like: killer squids are hard to find.  And don't do well in captivity.

Teen Titans #29

Ugh.  So much wrong with this issue.  From the cover that has no relation to the inside.  It shows what happened last issue!  To reappearing into the middle of a fight that had been the whole of the first arc.  This was just a bad issue.

Things I liked: seeing Kirin in her human form.

Things I didn't like: pretty much everything else.

Green Arrow #30

I love the art in this book.  It's the best part.

Things I liked: Ollie took charge.  He comes off as a bit whiny but I get where he's coming from.

Things I didn't like: Robert getting himself shot in the back as a way for his son to forgive him has been done to death.

Batman: the Dark Knight #29

I'm beginning to worry about Batman.  First he doused the city in a mist made of his blood for an antidote to fear and now he's letting himself be impaled to cure Man-Bat.

Things I liked: he's worried about the homeless?

Things I didn't like: everyone seemed out of character this issue.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #29

Another space adventure.  Sigh.  They just got back from an otherworldly thing, can't they deal with other stuff for a bit.

Things I liked: not sure how I feel about Roy being a super genius.  It adds something to his character but it's not something I've ever associated with him.

Things I didn't like: kind of convenient for the alien to speak something close to Tamarean.  It would have more sense for it to just be something she knew.

Wonder Woman #29

Yay!  No more stone Amazons.

Things I liked: Artemis and Apollo do have a really weird relationship.

Things I didn't like: Hera just getting her powers back.  It was too easy.

Batman and Robin #29

I knew it was coming.  The search for Robin begins.

Things I liked: of course Ra's al Ghul is going to resurrect his daughter and grandson.  Why wouldn't he?

Things I didn't like: the romp through guest stars this is going to involve.  Plus, being housed in a whale's uterus does not make the clone part aquatic.
